AMARG BONEYARD

Nog iets wat Gert toch graag wil zien is het AMARG


Het Amarg in Tucson, Arizona is het grootste vliegtuig kerkhof in de wereld. 
"The Boneyard ', zoals het vaak wordt genoemd is opgericht in 1946 om een ​​aantal overtollige vliegtuigen op te slaan, maar uiteindelijk groeide het uit tot de opslagruimte voor alle out-of-service vliegtuigen. Het bevat meer dan 4000 vliegtuigen, waaronder de bommenwerpers, jachtvliegtuigen zoals de F15 Eagle en de F14 Tomcat, grote militaire transportvliegtuigen, zoals de C5a Galaxy, helikopters,  jets en unieke prototypes die nooit gebruikt zijn. Het klimaat in Tucson is vriendelijk voor vliegtuigen door de harde grond, de  lage luchtvochtigheid en weinig neerslag.

Chandlers Indian Market

We zijn natuurlijk ook nog meer dan een week in Glendale. k ben al bezig om te kijken wat daar nog te doen is en kwam op het internet Chandlers Indian Art Market tegen. Verder kon ik niet veel info vinden dan wat ik hier beneden heb gekopierd/geplakt. Lijkt met wel leuk om een kijkje te gaan nemen als het niet te warm is. Misschien kunnen we nog een leuke schaal of katchina pop kopen… je weet maar nooit.

Het festival beschikt over Native American kunst, entertainment en eten van kunstenaars over het zuidwesten. Authentieke kunst zal zijn onder andere: sieraden, fotografie, keramiek, schilderijen, Katchina houtsnijwerk, sculpturen, geweven stoffen, kleding, en tribale kunst en kunstnijverheid.

Zo ik ben er eens een middagje voor gaan zitten en omdat ik een echte Hollander ben heb ik eens opgezocht wat er allemaal gratis te doen is in Las Vegas. De lijst was enorm dus ik heb er die dingen uit gehaald die voor ons interessant kunnen zijn. Het is nog steeds een flinke lijst en in het Engels maar ik had geen zin meer om te vertalen. Sommige op de lijst hebben Gert en ik al gezien, en Marina ook volgens mij, maar die zijn dan zeker de moeite waard om nog een keer te bekijken. Ik denk niet dat we alles gaan redden, mar zo hebben we in ieder geval mooi op een rijtje wat er allemaal te doen is.

In the Mandalay Bay Resort’s registration lobby visitors will find a 14-
foot-high, salt-water aquarium reminiscent of the beautiful coral reefs 
of the South Pacific. This impressive 12,200-gallon exhibit is filled with 
dozens of aquatic species including eight types of Angelfish. The 
aquarium is a terrific preview to what can be seen in the 1 million 
gallon Shark Reef exhibit located near the South convention Center.

The Art of Richard MacDonald Presented by Cirque du Soleil
Located in the newly renovated "O" Theatre lobby, this new fine art gallery 
features a collection of over 50 sculptures, original drawings, serigraphs and 
lithographs by the most collected figurative sculptor in America, Richard 
MacDonald. The gallery is born out of a relationship between Guy Laliberté, 
Founder of Cirque du Soleil, and Richard MacDonald, a master of figurative 
sculpture. MacDonald feels that he and Laliberté are "similar in life long 
creative goals." His work focuses on the spectrum of performing life, capturing 
a fleeting moment in time and immortalizing the grace, strength, joy and 
discipline of dancers and acrobats. His work shares the creativity and 
imagination that fuels Cirque du Soleil and conveys MacDonald's sense of 
energy and passion.
The gallery is located in the "O" Theatre lobby at Bellagio. Gallery is open daily 
from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Learn everything you could possibly ever want to know about this candy classic 
at the M & M's academy, watch a 3-D movie starring M & M's and shop in their gift 
shop where everything you could ever want an M & M's logo on is for sale,
